I ordered five spools of 2.85mm black rPETG, and before I dive into the details, I want to mention that the company was really great about giving me a full refund after my order faced some serious delays. So, this review is focused on the product itself, not the customer service.

When I opened the boxes, I was surprised to see that the spools weren’t vacuum sealed properly; they were just wrapped in a flimsy, perforated material.

The first issue I ran into was that the cardboard spools didn’t fit securely in the holder of my Ultimaker 2+E. I get that not every printer can be accommodated, but the Ultimaker series is pretty common, so this feels like a major oversight. Still, I managed to fit the spool as best as I could and hoped it wouldn’t fall off. Just joking—if there were a 3D printing deity, I’d say, to paraphrase Nietzsche: that god is gone, and this filament is to blame.

My initial experience with this material can be summed up with a catchy phrase from a well-known breakfast cereal: snap, crackle, pop. This was easily the wettest spool of PETG I’ve ever tried to extrude. The printing process was riddled with stringing, uneven extrusion, and the end result was completely unusable. I went through two more spools, and they both had the same problems. I did everything I could think of to make this filament work—cleaning the nozzle, adjusting temperatures—but nothing seemed to help.

I really wanted to enjoy this filament after having such a pleasant interaction with their customer service. I’m hoping I just got a couple of bad spools from what is usually a reliable manufacturer, but who knows?

I've used the PLA, PETG, and ABS from Filamentive, and I gotta say, I'm really impressed with the quality of their recycled filament.
